Meet the Team

Kurtis Kooiman founded Silverstar Finance in November of 1998. Kurtis’ #1 priority is to empower families through education and strategy planning. He creates the vision and focus at Silverstar. When Kurtis is not at the office he’s practicing to be a star golfer at the Sea Cliff Country Club, flying helicopters or drinking great wine with close friends.

Janet French partnered with Kurtis in order to help more people achieve wealth and put a plan into action with the necessary tools and team to reach short and long-term financial goals. Silverstar is the foundation of your Trusted Advisor Team and we will help you solve problems and realize your dreams. Janet enjoys investing in real estate, cooking yummy food for friends and entertaining.

Maria Macias-Hoyo, a former teacher, realizes the importance of trust and good communication. She has hosted an assortment of public seminars all over So. Cal. and she volunteers her time in schools to educate parents on the strategies to obtain financial success. She “practices what she preaches” and serves as a role model for many of her clients. Currently, Maria owns investment properties in four states and in Mexico. She lives in Huntington Beach, with her husband Harvey and their fifteen year old cockatiel named Phoenix.

Jason Redmond has been working with Silverstar for many years; first as a lending partner, and now as a team member. He feels too many families don’t have the necessary tools and instruction needed to secure a strong financial future and retirement, which is why he has chosen to make this his focus. Jason enjoys spending time with his wife and young son. He’s also a long standing member of a HB City softball team.

John Davis has been an active real estate investor for many years while his primary career was media and sports. John has negotiated and managed over $150 million in media contracts which included stints with Disney as Broadcast Advertising Sales Manager for the Angels and Ducks, and as the GM of KDOC-TV in Los Angeles. He brings a wealth of strategic planning and creative deal making experience as he helps clients with their real estate investments. John feels strongly about Equity Management and is a Certified Mortgage Planner with extensive training on advanced financing strategies.

April Koenig has been in the real estate and mortgage industry since 1999. Her focus at Silverstar Finance is to build successful strategic partnerships. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her 5 year old daughter, Kelsey, practicing yoga, shopping and playing Texas Hold’em.

Shannon Flores is Silverstar’s newest superstar. She coordinates all of our events, newsletters, postcards and the fun mail you receive from Silverstar. You will be getting a call from Shannon from time to time when she is schedules you for consultations or mortgage checkup or to confirm your RSVP for one of our special events. She is our client care expert and she always has a smile waiting for you.

We are one team and we share one vision; to educate, empower and help you realize the financial goals you have always dreamed about.

Our Beliefs, Your Opportunities

Our commitment to your financial growth is the foundation of our vision.

Our purpose is to strengthen your awareness and expand your knowledge so that you can make smart choices when selecting the right mortgage to use as a vehicle in building long-term wealth.

We believe that people are largely unaware of the magnitude of benefits and wealth that can be realized by properly structuring their mortgage. And that most people would like to achieve wealth but do not know how to get started.

Because we are helping you create, perhaps, the largest debt of your life, as Mortgage Planners, we have a responsibility to help you professionally manage that debt on an ongoing basis.

Tommy Williams

Richard Lambros is the Chief Executive Officer of the Building Industry Association of Southern California (BIA/SC), a non-profit trade association representing over 2,200 member companies involved in all aspects of the building industry in the six-county Los Angeles metropolitan area. The 38,000-square-mile region is home to over 16-million residents.

Richard is responsible for the day-to-day management of the sixth largest local homebuilding trade association in the nation and the largest local association in the state. He works with BIA/SC’s Board of Directors, six chapters and twelve councils to craft and implement strategies that will grow the size and strength of the association, provide valuable member services, advance industry causes and create a pro-housing climate that is conducive to sustained housing growth in Southern California. At BIA/SC, Richard has utilized his wealth of political, business and association management experience to help the association reestablish itself as the leading regional voice for the homebuilding industry. His efforts and skills were recognized nationally in 2004 when he won the National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) “Executive Officer of the Year Award.”

After nearly winning an election in 1996 to represent California’s 56th Assembly District, Richard served a two-year term as Executive Director for the California Republican Party, where he managed the administrative and political activities for the largest state Republican Party in the nation.

Prior to his political post, Richard spent over 10 years representing the interests and efforts of the housing industry. He served as the Vice President and Director of Public Affairs for the Apartment Association of Orange County (AAOC) and as Director of Governmental Relations for the Rancho Los Cerritos Association of REALTORS©. His years of service and contributions to the housing industry earned him special recognition in 1996 as the Alliance of Real Estate Associations’ “Legislative Advocate of the Year.”

A second-generation California native, Richard was born in Los Angeles and raised in Downey, California. He attended the University of Southern California, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Richard is married and lives with his wife, Colleen, and four children in Fullerton.
